SONOVA Returns with Live and Virtual Concert Options
As the region and the world continue to deal with the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic, our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by this crisis. The health and safety of our audience members and musicians remains our highest priority, and over the past several months the board and staff of SONOVA have worked hard to develop a strategy to safely return to making music. With that in mind, we are pleased to announce our fall 2020 schedule.
On October 10 at 6:00pm we will present "Strings Al Fresco," which will feature the wonderful string section of SONOVA playing jazz and classical favorites. String playing is exponentially safer than wind instrument playing, due to the fact that no droplets or aerosolized particles are released through the playing of string instruments. Additional protocols will be in place to ensure we are presenting this concert in the safest way possible. The audience will be capped at 1/3 of capacity, and will sit in socially distanced seating sections. All audience members, staff, and musicians will be wearing masks. And food and drinks (other than water) will be prohibited. Part of well-being is being culturally and emotionally nourished, and we are so excited to be able to provide this concert to aid in the well being of all our audience members and musicians.
In December we will present the first ever all virtual SONOVA concert with "Dashing Through the Snow… A virtual Holiday Concert featuring the Arlington Chorale." SONOVA and our friends at the Arlington Chorale will get you and your family in the mood for the holiday season by presenting a completely virtual concert of holiday favorites. The virtual concert link will be available from December 19 until December 26, or you can pay just a little bit extra and get the downloadable version so you can watch it whenever you want for years to come.
We hope to be able to return to a more traditional season in the winter of 2021, but will only do so if it is the safe and responsible thing to do. For now, we are continuing to make a variety of plans for 2021, and will announce them as we get closer to the start of the new year.
While the world has certainly changed, one thing that will never change is SONOVA's dedication to bringing you high quality, innovative, and affordable classical music. We are so honored to share our music with you, and so grateful to be a part of your lives. We will see you outside, and on your computers, very soon.
