December 16, 2018 at 2:00pm James Lee Community Center Every year, the most requested item at homeless shelters is socks. SONOVA paired with local homeless shelters to provide a FREE concert of beautiful Bach music. The only cost of admission is a new, unopened pack of socks. SONOVA brought the giving spirit of the holiday season into the new year on January 5th at 7:30 pm at the James Lee Community Center. Mozart's Requiem Mass in D Minor
May 6, 2018 at 4:00pm George Washington Masonic National Memorial Theater SONOVA’s season’s finale concert featured two exciting musical works: Mozart’s famous Requiem Mass in D minor, and the world premiere of an original work — “Darkness and Light,” commissioned by Jay and Jon Kurtz — written by SONOVA’s own composer-in-residence, Michael Ream. One of the greatest masterpieces ever written, Mozart's "Requiem in D minor" is transcendent in its power, passion, and ethereal beauty. The Symphony Orchestra of Northern Virginia and the SONOVA Chorale were led by guest conductor Andrea Vela. |
